Drum Roll Please ::Its All Set In Stone::

Posted in My University Life on Monday, July 31, 2006 by dragonsvamp

Well acutally that isn’t really true it’s not all set in stone.  Registration today was pretty stressful but not as stressful as I expected.  To begin with I so did not expect to get into any of the classes I wanted.  I expected all the classes I wanted to sign up for would be full to bursting meaning I would have to run around and try to get all the signatures from the Dean and the heads of the departments to let me ‘unlock’ the classes and get into them.

But I must say God loves me (and Amino and Lumi) today.  I had no problem with registering for the classes I wanted.  All, except one, had more than enough space and the one that was locked I had a back up class for it which I got into easily.

So of course if one has it easy in one way they must have it hard in something else. You know its all about balance.  So yeah I didn’t have any problems with getting into the classes but I did have HUGE problems with the computers themselves.  The system crashed or froze at least TWICE in the half hour given to me to register.  Add to that the printers were jammed and the computers for the printers were frozen.

But all in all I am SO happy I got into the courses I wanted and to have four out of the five I signed up for with Amino by my side.  I am almost in pure bliss (note:ALMOST).

My classes:

1) 9-10 American Literature Till 1865

2) 10-11 Seventeenth Century English Literatures

3) 11-12 Shakespeare

   12-1 Break

4)1-2 Study Skills

5)2-3 Advanced Writing

I had wanted to take Novel One from 12-1 but that was the class which was locked so I took Shakespeare instead.

The reason why this schedual is not set in stone yet is because I am thinking of adding one more class to it.  But so far I do not think these classes will be changed.

WOW I survived another registration fiasta and got out of it almost unscathed enough to tell about it!

Drum Roll Please ::Luck::

Wish me luck everybody! I go tomorrow to register for my classes for fall semester.  Also, I am planning on going on a vacation to Turkey for a week in the end of August so I need some luck there.  I need a break.  Hope I get everything figured out and planned out in the smoothest way possible.

For now I’ll settle for the good luck concerning my classes…and I’ll make a more detailed report about Turkey and what I am planning on doing there when I myself find out what I am planning on doing.  I just today decided I was going to go. LOL

Drum Roll Please ::Classes::

Alright so it seems that there is a good selection of classes that are available for next semester! I am very excited.  The classes I hope to take (in order of preference) are:

1. England 2 (A.K.A. Seventeenth Century English Literature)

2. American 1 (A.K.A. American Literature until 1865)

3. Novel (1)

4. English 102

5. Advanced Writing (yeah its about time we start writing essays and stuff!)

6. Classical and Ancient Literature

7. Syntax 2

8. Phonetics

9. Arabic 2 for non Arab speakers

The maximum amount of classes to register for in one semester is six classes but I might take only five.  But those are the classes I am thinking of registering in…

I can’t believe it. Less than three more weeks and we will be done with the summer semester.  Already, registration has started and my appointment with the computer is on Monday at nine thirty in the morning.  Fingers crossed over here that I am able to sign up for the classes I want and that they are not all locked down (because they are full) by the time I get to them.

Three weeks.  WOW.  I’ve never had a semester pass so quickly.  Midterms are already history and finals are looming.  I am not in much of a fuss over the finals for the classes I am taking are not that difficult.  However, I am nervous about getting into the classes I want for next semester.  Wish me luck!

Year of release: July 7 2006

Genre: Action/Adventure, Adaptation and Sequel

Running Time: 2hours and 25minutes

Crtics’ Rating(yahoo.com): B-

My Rating: A++

Comments:. I have never ever liked a sequel more than the original movie until now.  This sequal to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl‘ is in my opinion much much better than the first.  Though I absolutly loved the first movie this one is awesome!

Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Cast: Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Jack Davenport ,

Year of release: July 9 2003

Genre: Action/Adventure and Kids/Family

Running Time: 2hours and 13minutes

Rating: PG-13

Crtics’ Rating(yahoo.com): B-

My Rating: A-

Comments:. Well what can I say?  I think my rating tells a whole lot.  Even though the storyline and plot of this movie is pretty much predictable Johnny Depp adds spice to it and makes it memorable.  I am sad to say that I only saw this a couple months ago and completely fell in love with it.  The good thing is that I didn’t have to wait three years till the second movie comes out.  I only had to wait a few months.  A must see for all pirate/fantasy lovers.  I guarantee you will laugh your head off through most of this movie.  Completely awesome.

Poems Cont’ed

Posted in WORK ::POETRY:: on Thursday, July 20, 2006 by dragonsvamp

Here are a few poems I wrote yesterday and today…Will have them up in the ‘Pages’ section soon…

I Care Not

My mother dies, my brother

My sister dies, yet I care not

A wall of poison ivy encircles me

And I feel not

A wall as wide as it is long

Renders me deaf to this world

And I hear not

So thick this wall

Through it I can not see

Nor do I care to

Within this wall nothing penetrates

Within this wall I am safe

Within this wall

I see not

I hear not

I feel not

I care not

My mother dies, my brother

My sister dies, and with every death

A bit of me dies as well

And though I die slowly

I have yet

To feel

To see

To hear

To care

For life is but a fleeting memory

And I but a passenger on this short journey

My mother dies, my brother

My sister dies, yet I care not.

§§§

Looking out of my tower

I shudder and turn my back to the window

I do not want to see

To see the pain the world is going through

I close my eyes

I do not want to hear

To hear the cries of those in pain

I cover my ears

I do not want to feel

What they are feeling

I keep my back to the window

And block everything out

Safe in my tower

§§§

Smiling, deceiving

Happy? Who are you kidding?

Suicidal? Perhaps

Homicidal? Most probably

Yet an angel all the same

No one suspecting

No one doubting

Got the world wrapped around a finger

Burning it while looking the other way

Suicidal? Perhaps

Homicidal? Most likely

Destructive? Without a doubt

Happy? Who are you kidding?
